DSSC Cares

Dunedin Stirling Soccer Club is not just a soccer club. We are a group of families that take pride in our community and its success. Although we are very focused on what happens on our fields, developing our players and teaching them sportsmanship through the game of soccer, we also care about improving lives off the field within the community.

DSSC has chosen to offer support to the following nonprofit organization for 2020:

Paul's Project

Paul's Project, as part of the 1 Voice Foundation, was created by Palm Harbor resident Amy Whitehurst, after her friend, Karen Gliddon, lost her 5-year-old son to acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The charity distributes care packages to parents of critically ill children at hospitals throughout Florida, including All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Tampa General Hospital and St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa. The care packages contain comfort items not readily available, such as basic hygiene and toiletry items, socks, mints, a calculator, restaurant gift cards, laundry detergent and more — enough to sustain a family for five days. 

Due to current circumstances the charity is running low on the following items. DSSC has decided to host a collection drive between now and November 9th. We are also looking for 2 volunteers to help assemble the care packages this weekend - November 7/8. Please email [email protected] if you are interested. Hours may be eligible for Bright Futures.

• Individually wrapped toothbrush (2 per pack is fine)
