Board of Directors
Dunedin Stirling Soccer Club (DSSC) is a 501 3c non-profit organization and wholly owned by the members of the organization. Our current Board of Directors share the workload of operating the soccer organization. All of the clubs funds are derived from registrations, fundraisers, and sponsorships. As a board member you have many responsibilities, but the most important one is the continued operation and funding of the club. Below you will find the current Board Members in place, as well as some basic details about being/becoming a board member.
Director of Coaching
Coach Timothy Cooper joins DSSC with over 20 years of coaching experience, coaching at the high school, club, and collegiate levels. He played all four years at NCAA Division II Florida Southern College and was named to the Sunshine State Conference All-Conference Team three times, and NCAA Division II All-Regional Team twice.
Coach Cooper played professionally in England and in the US. He continues to play, recently winning a National Amateur Championship last summer with his local men's team. Coach Cooper serves as the varsity boys' soccer coach at Berkeley Preparatory School, winning several District and Regional championships, and a three-time FHSAA State championship runner-up. He won the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Florida High School Coach of the Year awards for private schools, in 2012 and again in 2017. Before taking the Berkeley position, he was the assistant coach at Countryside High School for six years assisting the team to a State Championship and #1 National ranking in 2005-2006. Coach Cooper continues to work at Countyside High School, his alma mater, as a math teacher and has been in that position for 20 years. He has a son, Josiah (11) and a daughter, Saraya (14). |

Duties of a board member
All board members are responsible for the operation and financial well being of the organization. This entails doing general duties around the club on weekends or weeknights. Some of the general duties that everyone is responsible for are: Attendance to monthly meetings, Attention to General Club business, Fiscal responsibility of the club, various duties on rotating schedule during seasons, General Club Liaison, Lining of fields, Concession stand help, Assisting in field/club maintenance, keeping the fields and building clean.
There are also various very specific jobs that require one or more people to take complete ownership of in order to maintain the club. There are various jobs that are part of the organization and some take more time than others. For additional details please contact the BOD.
Is being a board member for me
Please consider this before you decide if joining the board is right for you, can you commit the time needed to be part of this organization. You should be able to count on about 5 hours a week of time during off periods and upwards of 15 hours of time during prep periods which occur right before seasons begin. Some jobs require a bit more time than others and some jobs require more manual work vs. office work. We look forward to hearing from you and hope that you can join our group and effort in making the Dunedin Stirling Soccer Club a great experience for kids.

Additionally the DSSC BOD is looking for 2023/24 Tournament Committee Members. These are non-board positions with limited time window of commitment. We have several positions available ranging from Awards, Concession Stand, Marketing, Sponsorship, Volunteer Coordinator and many more. Please contact us below if you have any interest and we will invite you to a separate committee meeting to share further details.
- Provide leadership in developing strategies for raising funds to support the Club’s programs
- Organize fundraising activities and create detailed reports for monthly meeting summary
- Recruit volunteers for fundraising activities
- Attend monthly board meeting & additional/emergency meetings scheduled by the Board of Directors
- Prepare and give a detailed report at Annual Meeting
Scheduling Coordinator
- Assists with game schedule coordination
- Works closely with VP of Competitive, VP of Recreational & Academy, and Field Asset Coordinator
- Ensures field space is available for games
- Main contact for all game schedule changes/adjustments
